Every brand has a story, and the story of A Bit of Extra Boutique starts with a birthday surprise that turned into something much bigger!
It all began when my sister gifted me a pair of bold, oversized, EXTRA sparkly sunglasses for my birthday in 2018. They were JUST the thing I loved to wear — huge, covered in shiny gemstones, and unapologetically EXTRA. She knew me well enough to pick out something fun and daring, and it was no surprise that I immediately fell in love with them!
And then my daughter posted a picture of me wearing them, with the caption: "Here's my mom, living her life, a bit extra. Happy birthday mom!” It was a playful, spontaneous moment, and it captured the essence of embracing THE EXTRA and having the best time doing it!
Fast Forward 2 1/2 years. When it hit me that I wanted to open a women's clothing and gifts boutique, I of course stewed over an appropriate name for that boutique. A boutique where women could come in and TOUCH, TRY ON & FALL IN LOVE with the clothing: and to have every piece be special in it's own way. I KNEW it had to be called A Bit of Extra. It's like it named itself.
So come on it. Touch it all. Try it all on. Take home only what you love. But most importantly, embrace who you are and what makes you happy.
