It’s my favorite thing when anyone tells me, “We’ve never done THAT before.”
“But CAN you do it?” is always my reply.
It's just that I have a “thing” in me that I call “a blessing and a curse.”
I CAN SEE "IT" IN MY MIND!
Whatever “it” turns out to be. I can see what I want in my mind before I’ve seen it with my eyes. The design of a hallway pocket door. The way I want the carpet on my new stairwell. My dress to junior prom. My sweet mother blended 2 or 3 sewing patterns together to bring to life the dress "I saw" in my head. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure she did that for my (first 😉) wedding dress too!
This is a blessing because I can imagine THE. PERFECT. THING. But it’s a curse because once I’ve imagined it, it’s nearly impossible to settle for anything else. And because I’ve only seen it in my mind, I may not be able to find it in the physical... yet!
What does this have to do with A Bit of Extra? Well the merchandise, display racks & cabinetry in this very boutique were a vision before they were a reality! But I COULD SEE IT in my mind! So, I knew I could bring it into reality.
My mother-in-law always says to me what her mother always said to her, “You’re only limited by your imagination!”
Unwilling to change the curse,
