Life hit me as it sometimes hits.
In April of 2021 I was newly unemployed. My dad was dying. And our family had just experienced a major violation when a medical provider videoed my daughter undressing and dressing in his medical treatment room. (Two years later the jury called him not guilty.)
Well, I did what I sometimes do. I wandered “The Fun Isle” at the grocery store. That’s what my sister, Karen and I call The Seasonal Isle. I was looking for a little joy. Well, The Gods have always looked out for me and by golly I found it. Joy.
I found it and I took it home. And I floated on it in my hot tub. A giant unicorn floaty. The unicorn took up about half of the hot tub surface. LOL. I found it utterly amusing to be floating on a giant unicorn, in a small hot tub, all by myself.
Can you relate? Sometimes it’s just plain necessary to be a little less serious and a bit more “extra” than life seems to deem appropriate at the moment. So, here’s to all of you navigating what life gives you, in the best way you know how.
